6 weeks, 3 days: Zofran ROCKS

After writing optimistically on Friday, things went quickly downhill. Except for a couple-hour break midday, I was spending most of my time being either incapacitatedly-nauseated (new word) or throwing up. SOOOO..... last night I capitulated and broke out my small store of Zofran that I had gotten from an OB a year and a half ago in case of future pregnancy, and took half a dose (I only have 20 pills, so rationing is the word of the day.) Wow!! Last night was still yucky, but completely manageable - what a change! And I took one this morning, and I feel quite well! Hurray!!

My OB forgot to send the prescription for Zofran in on Friday (when I went to pick it up yesterday they'd never heard of me) so we'll have to do that all over on Monday, but for now Zofran is really doing it for me. Pray God that the effect lasts and that I'm able to get enough of it from our insurance company to do the job! For now, though, I am an absolute and fanatic convert of the stuff. Bring it on!!

  1. I've been reading your blog as my husband and I were TTC #2. I also had HG in my first pregnancy and was anxious to see if it returned full-force for you. Just got my BFP this weekend and am waiting to see if the HG comes back. I agree completely that Zofran rocks--saved me last time! Best wishes for a healthy and happy pregnancy.

  2. Cool!

You may also want to check into getting free samples from the doctor; and some drug companies have programs where people can get necessary medicines when their insurance companies can't afford them. Click here for more information, on Zofran & GlaxoSmithKline. Your pharmacy or doctor may also be able to provide you with more information.

  3. Zofran saved my life, no doubt! If it comes down to it, sometimes the insurance company will pay for a Zofran pump when they won't pay for enough pills...that's what happened to me. I had that pump through delivery! :) It's a pain to carry around, but it was a life saver for me! Hopefully, you won't get to the point of needing more pills than insurance will cover! I'm so sorry you've felt so horrible! I'm so glad the Zofran is working! Still praying!!!

  4. OK- I am caught up. WOW- what a roller coaster so far! Glad the Zofran is working. It was a miracle drug for me when I was pregnant with DD. As I mentioned before, I am in the 2WW. I will be reading daily to see how you are doing. We are here for you! Hang it there! Best of luck! HUGS!
