Tomorrow Is the Big Day!
Tomorrow is the beginning of our 2015-2016 school year.
I'm so excited!
And nervous.
What will this year hold? New babies? Changing life circumstances? New direction? Same ol', same ol'? Every year I wonder, and every year we just have to wait to see what the Lord has in store for our family. Every year He has proved faithful, and I know that whatever this year holds, God has us in His hand and is working for our good.
I'm excited about this year. Unlike last year, when I was starting the year with a good case of burnout and day-and-night morning sickness, this year I'm feeling great and ready to get going. I'm excited that I've found some direction for our studies (in some areas!), and I'm looking forward to getting started.
In fact, I'm feeling a bit like an eager-beaver who is just asking to overdo it. Again. Hopefully having been down the burnout road before will protect me from that.
Maybe, anyway. I tend to repeat mistakes several times before I actually learn the lesson.
Tonight we had our "Back to (Home) School Party" - hamburgers, French fries, fruit salad, and cake.
Tomorrow will be our special donuts-for-breakfast day, and I'll decorate and put out our new curriculum. We won't actually do any school work tomorrow, so hopefully it will be a pretty smooth first day back. Real work will start on Tuesday. (I'm planning to add a subject a day to get up to full running speed.)
Here's to 2015-2016 and whatever it holds.
Happy Back-to-(Home)-School!
