HG Musings & Advice

My good friend Jennifer, currently pregnant with Embryo Adoption Snowflake baby Matthew (SO exciting!!!) has gone through the wringer with nausea and vomiting during her pregnancy. I wanted to share some of her writings.

First, on dealing with HG, and the discouragement that comes with it:

Week 13: "Emesis"

And also...

Week 24: "Middle of the Night Whining"

And then a great compilation of her how-to-deal-with-it tips:

My Very Limited HG Tips

I always love posting writings from HG mamas, so please feel free to send me links to link to if you have written about your experience or done any "how to survive" articles.

  1. Thank you so much for posting this. I'm gearing up for an HG pregnancy myself, and I can use all the help I can get!

I'm also blogging about the whole journey. Your blog is so full of good information. I'd love to link to it. I'm at:

  2. Hello, Knocked-Up-Knocked-Over! Wow! I am so excited about your blog! What a great source of information and inspiration. My blog served the exact same purpose yours did - I started it after #1 and before #2, in preparation for #2 (and in recovery from #1). I can't wait to read more of your writing, and best wishes for your journey!

If you scan my blog from the beginning, you'll find all the research I did about HG remedies - I have much of the same stuff you have found, but you might find some new ideas.

Also, I did a bit of research into a diet which supposedly (when done pre-conception) has great potential to prevent NVP. Leave me your email if you'd like me to email it to you.

    Good luck! Linking now! :)

  3. Diana,

I'd love the information you have on diet! I'm not particularly watching my diet too much. With keeping up on calories for nursing my daughter and with doctor ordered weight gain to work on, I've mostly got my hands full. That said, it's really good info, and if you're open to it, I would like to link back to your work and post about it on my page also.

I'm not super hip about publishing my email publically and globally. Is there a way I can contact you privately?

    Thanks,
    Molly

  4. Hi, Molly!

By the way, I love your name! Is it short for Mary? We fell in love with the name after watching "Wives & Daughters." :)

    Anyway!

Here is the link to the article discussing the diet:

Yes, it would be in conflict with your weight gain diet, as it's also a weight loss diet. You'll have to read it and see what you think! It's not an easy diet - I tried phase I for a week and retreated in utter defeat. However, it seems to have had good results.

I'll post my email for you, and then when I get an email from you, I'll come and erase it from my comments:

    Cheers! :)
