Entering a New Millennium!

And I'm finally here...

This is my 1000th post!

I've been blogging since 2008, so that's roughly 125 posts - or thereabouts - per year. It looks like my posting frequency peaked in 2011-2013 - and this year, 2016, has been miserable, posting-frequency-wise (halfway through the year I'm at 28 posts).

I've decided - tentatively - that I can keep blogging, assuming that I can accept one caveat - that I'm okay with not blogging.

In other words, if I can be at peace with the (very frequent, very long) times in which the blog is silent, and can accept that I can only post very infrequently, then I can keep going.

Learning to chill out is the key - never easy for an always-stressed person like myself.

But that's the goal!

In the meantime, here's to the next 1000 posts! I'm looking forward to sharing with you all.

  1. While you're celebrating 1,000 posts, I've only published about 100, so I have a long way to go to be as experienced in blogging as you are! Here's something that came to mind as I read this article.
There was a blog that I used to follow not too long ago. The author would publish a new post every day, or at least every couple of days. That was the frequency she had established for herself, and for some reason, that is what she assumed her readers also expected of her. At one point, she became stressed with the demands that her blog was making of her time, and then went to the other extreme: quitting altogether. I wondered if she was being a bit drastic.
I don't think people care if we post every day, once a week, or once a month. If the material is worth reading, it's worth waiting for, too. I'm currently subscribed to several blogs; some of them release posts every day, while others not even once a month. The less-than-once-a-month articles are just as looked-forward to as the more frequent ones.
So my point is: we should do whatever works best for us, and not worry about disappointing others, because what we think will disappoint them, probably won't. It's okay to slow down, without having to be extreme and stop blogging altogether. Unless, of course, you WANT to stop, or if it truly is driving you crazy:)
Love your posts, Diana! Reading them makes me feel connected to someone who is in a similar stage of life as I'm in and makes me feel less alone, since I don't get out much, as I mentioned before. I also feel like I learn a lot from you.
