While I'm not on FB any longer, I still get (way too many) updates from my husband, and I'm already watching them drop like flies - Christians ("Christians") who just can't stand to be unpopular or to swim against the tide. Suddenly, they've discovered that the Bible has always meant exactly what modern secular culture wants it to mean - what a coincidence! (*Rolls eyes*) And as the church becomes unpopular rather than "the thing," false believers who run with the crowd are falling away in droves.

And that's what I meant, in many ways - the church needs that purification.

And I too am heavily invested in attending a church where attendance will NOT drop (or not in any meaningful way) as the church becomes less popular - because they're all serious Christians who are determined to obey the Bible, regardless of culture.

Don't worry - you haven't missed much lately! With my husband's new job and trying to adjust to four little ones (how DO you do it, my friend?), my blogging time is approaching zero. I doubt I'll have much worthwhile to say for quite some time.

Thank you for stopping by!! :)Dianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10301075330910381544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-581913724905405055.post-17210680067837900012015-07-22T06:29:35.938-07:002015-07-22T06:29:35.938-07:00Also, are you sure you don't want to debate? I don't think that churches are going to retain the large numbers of people who have been attending, for one thing, so in the near future there's going to be a much more vulnerable feel to it when we gather on Sunday mornings. I'm personally switching to a church that I expect to lose nobody, not because I want to be first to abandon a sinking ship, but because I know that the teaching there is already adequate for the coming storm, and where I am right now, no matter how loyal I am to a few friends there, is not teaching in that way. (Hence my regret over the post I wrote. Should have taken that to the pastor, not the blog.)

I don't know how I've missed so many posts of yours. I had you in my feed reader! So I guess I'll have to catch up now. Glad somebody mentioned you so I'd go to your blog and see what in the world I'd missed.GAHCindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09468246525104936898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-581913724905405055.post-22976484042074938982015-07-15T21:07:21.758-07:002015-07-15T21:07:21.758-07:00Thank you, Anne! I completely agree about not wanting our children to be swept away by a society that is becoming ungodly at an exponential rate. We haven't started having the truly hard conversations yet (the heartbreaking ones you mention), but I know it's coming soon.

Thanks for stopping by! It is so important to me that my children aren't swept away by the current of secular society. My kids have so many questions, and it hurts my heart to be having some of the conversations we're having these days. I want eternal truths to be firmly available to them at all times and in all places as they are confronted with incorrect teachings.Aflyonmyhomeschoolwallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12746892667170459729noreply@blogger.com
